Earl Austin Foltz, 84, of Bayard, WV, died on September 24, 2012 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV. Born on October 25, 1927 in Gormania, WV, he was the son of the late Alva and Loretta (Aronhalt) Foltz. He was a veteran of the US Army having served in the Korean War and worked in the lumber business for over 50 years having retired from Interstate Lumber Company in Kingwood, WV at the age of 62. He was a 50 year member of the American Legion Proctor Kildow Post #71 in Oakland and a member of Keyser VFW #3518. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Helen “Louise” (Layton) Foltz; a son, Michael Foltz and wife Vonda (Curry) of Bayard; grandchildren, Randall “Scott” Foltz, Michael “Aaron” Foltz, Patrick Foltz and Dana (Foltz) Eyler; great grandchildren, Lily, Josh, Jocelyn, and Marylin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Randall “Randy” Foltz and brothers, Fay Foltz and Charles Foltz. Friends will be received at the Burdock-Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland on Thursday, September 27th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Friday, September 28th at 9:30 AM with Rev. William McCallister officiating. Interment will follow in West Virginia National Cemetery, Grafton with full military honors.
